Every Battery Change
What's Included
A watch battery replacement at Gordon Jewelers is more than swapping a cell. Every watch gets the right battery, a look at the seal that keeps moisture out, and a warranty that covers the work.
- Silver-Oxide CellWe install silver-oxide batteries matched to your watch's exact size and voltage. They hold steady voltage longer than alkaline cells and are less likely to leak.
- Gasket CheckThe caseback gasket is inspected on every battery change. If it is worn, cracked, or flattened, we replace it before the watch is closed.
- While You WaitMost battery replacements take under 15 minutes. Walk in, hand us the watch, and browse the showroom.
- 1-Year WarrantyIf the battery fails within one year, we replace it at no cost.
Four Steps
How It Works
The same process on every watch, from a $30 fashion watch to a family heirloom.
- 1. Open the CaseWe identify the caseback type, snap-on or screw-down, and open it with the correct tool so the back is not scratched or bent.
- 2. Remove and MatchThe old cell comes out. We check the contacts for residue and match a new silver-oxide cell to the exact size and voltage the movement calls for.
- 3. Install the CellThe new battery is seated and the watch is checked to confirm it is running.
- 4. Check the Gasket and CloseThe gasket is inspected and replaced if needed. The caseback is reseated and closed.

What to know before you stop in.
Most are done while you wait, usually in under 15 minutes. Screw-down casebacks and watches that need a new gasket can take a little longer. Either way, most customers leave with the watch running the same visit.
Standard battery replacement starts at $18 and includes a one-year warranty. Solar cells and specialty batteries cost more and are quoted before any work begins. A lifetime battery replacement option is also available.
On average, 18 months to 3 years. Watches with a chronograph, alarm, or backlight use more power and land at the shorter end of that range.
Silver-oxide cells. They hold a steady voltage through their life, which keeps the watch accurate, and they are less likely to leak than alkaline cells. Each one is matched to the exact size and voltage your movement requires.
We inspect the caseback gasket on every battery change. If it is worn, cracked, or flattened, we replace it before closing the watch.
A one-time purchase that covers every future battery replacement for that watch. When the battery dies, bring it in and we replace it at no charge. It is the best value for a watch you plan to wear for years.
Yes. Solar watches use a rechargeable cell instead of a standard battery. These cells lose capacity over time. We replace them and restore the watch to full charging capability.
No. Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, and other smartwatches require manufacturer service. We service quartz, solar, and mechanical watches.
