The Signature Maintenance Agreement
Keep your fine jewelry looking beautiful and performing its best for years to come. Regular inspections, professional cleanings, and expert repairs designed to protect the jewelry you wear every day.
What’s Included
Your Signature Maintenance Agreement covers a comprehensive range of services to keep your jewelry in perfect condition. Everything below is included for the lifetime of your piece.
How the Maintenance Agreement Works
To keep your jewelry protected under this agreement, simply bring your piece into Gordon Jewelers every six months for inspection and cleaning. We'll send you a reminder when it's time. During this visit, our jewelers will carefully examine your piece for wear, loose stones, or other issues. If any maintenance or repairs are needed, we'll let you know and schedule the work so it's done right.
Six months from your last inspection, we'll notify you that it's time to bring your piece back in. Simply drop by and let us know you're here for your inspection. We'll clean your jewelry until it sparkles like new, inspect it for any issues, and let you know about any maintenance or service we may need to do. We handle everything from there. Drop it off, wait while we work, or ship it in. Whatever is easiest for you.
Which Jewelry Is Eligible?
Eligible jewelry includes engagement rings, wedding bands, earrings, pendants, chains, and rings made entirely of gold or platinum, as well as wedding bands made from tungsten, serinium, and titanium. Jewelry made from silver, stainless steel, gold-plated materials, or estate jewelry is not eligible for coverage.
Will You Cover Existing Jewelry or Jewelry Not Purchased at Gordon Jewelers?
Yes. We'll need to inspect and appraise the piece first. Any work necessary to restore it to like new condition, including prong retipping, resizing, or stone replacement, must be completed at full service price before an agreement can be purchased. Your Signature Maintenance Agreement price is then based on our appraised value.
What Services and Repairs Are Covered?
This plan covers all inspections, cleanings, maintenance and repairs to your specific item, including the parts and labor necessary, to fix issues that occur during normal wear. Services include prong retipping and rebuilding, ring resizing, chain and bracelet repair, replacement of lost or damaged diamonds and gemstones, pearl restringing, clasp replacement, earring post repair, and similar work. Appraisal updates available on request.
A Closer Look at What We Cover
Your Responsibilities
To maintain coverage, your jewelry must be inspected every six months. Any repairs identified during your visit must be addressed at that time. You also agree to treat your jewelry with care. Activities such as working out, gardening, construction work, or swimming in pools and hot tubs can cause damage and are not covered under this agreement.
Some Examples of Neglect and Abuse
If you have an active lifestyle, consider a silicone band as a companion piece for the gym, travel, or work. Wear your fine jewelry when it’s safe to do so, and swap to the silicone band when it’s not.
Keep a ring dish in your bedroom and one in the kitchen. When you take your jewelry off, always place it in the same spot. That way if your ring isn't on your finger, you know it's in one of two places. For longer term storage, we recommend a jewelry box kept in a secure location.
What Is Not Covered?
Our Signature Maintenance Agreement covers the care and upkeep of your jewelry. It is not insurance. Accidental damage, loss, and theft are not covered under this agreement. If your piece has been damaged beyond repair, a homeowner's or renter's insurance policy is your best protection. Most policies allow you to add a jewelry schedule for lost, damaged, or stolen items at a very reasonable rate. We're happy to provide an appraisal to help you get that set up.
Contact your homeowner's or renter's insurance provider about scheduling your jewelry under your policy. Most companies will cover loss, theft, and damage, including when you're away from home. They will require an appraisal, which is covered under your Signature Maintenance Agreement.
How Long Does Coverage Last?
Coverage applies only to the jewelry listed on the receipt containing the Signature Agreement Number and is not transferable to other items purchased. Coverage remains valid for the lifetime of the jewelry as long as the terms of the agreement are met.
Can I Transfer This Agreement?
Yes. This agreement applies to the original purchaser, the original gift recipient, and any subsequent gift recipient of the jewelry, so long as they are in possession of the jewelry, and the Signature Agreement Number is verified by Gordon Jewelers.
Does this Agreement ever expire?
Only if you miss your inspection window. Your agreement requires inspections every six months, however we understand life happens. If we do not inspect your jewelry within 12 months of your last inspection, your agreement will expire. You are welcome to bring your piece in after expiration and we will still inspect it, however any maintenance and repairs that would have been covered will be at your cost. Once those repairs are completed and your piece passes inspection, your agreement will be reactivated.
